I stained the cabinet I'm making last weekend and I I'm sort of wishing i was just making a bookshelf because it looks great. The doors are giving me trouble. I used a router to put a nice edge on the doors and it did not go well. The router worked well on the 3/4 inch plywood, but the 1/2 inch plywood really splintered on me. I wish I could build it out of solid wood, but that would make it much more expensive.

Would Sondra Marshak & Myrna Culbreath's Star Trek novels be considered smutty fic? I think I first encountered a couple of those in the late 70s when I was a gradeschool kid.
Nah. Those are just weird and subtexty.

Can you use solid wood as just an edging for the door?
Someone emailed me a link to a Wizard of Oz fic.
"When correctly viewed, everything is lewd,
I can tell you things about Peter Pan,
And the Wizard of Oz, there's a dirty old man..." (Tom Lehrer)

I remember even as a kid realizing that the writers totally intended to imply Kirk and Spock were a couple. And also thinking they were written WAY out of character, it was more like romance novels with names and settings from Trek pasted in.
Killing Time is the infamous novel where the super-slashy stuff accidentally slipped through, and they changed it for the next printing.
I first ran across zine Star Trek slash with explicit pictures. Definitely not ready for that then.

LOL--I've had that happen. Makes me LESS inclined to deal with your issue first thing! Usually it's people on the east coast or in Europe who aren't thinking and don't realize I'm not yet in the office...

So wait, there are slashy and less slashy versions, out there?

Yep. First edition is different from subsequent editions.
