A little more whining or complaining anyway or maybe just a reality check: so last week we had those layoffs and a bunch of people just pretty much disappeared, all information that I got was spread through the grapevine (I guess we did get officially told who was laid off from our specific department but that's it). yesterday I got an invitation for a "goodbye party" for the VP of another department who is apparently voluntarily leaving. This has always struck me as troublesome, that if you choose to leave you get a party but if you are let go in any fashion you just are gone, poof, but the timing of this one really bothers me. Am I being unreasonable?

Seems pretty tacky to me, -t.
-t he did not tell me, my mother did.
He has HUGE block to ever admitting any wrong or apologizing. I know it is weighing on him by how he is acting - just know his body language and responses. I tried to connect the dots for him and told him I know he is embarrassed and it will be hard, but he needs to both see his grandmother and apologize. She knows he loves her and he needs to see that she loves him.
That's rough on everybody. My love to you all.
Best wishes, msbelle. It sounds like some sort of progress is being made.
Tacky, that's the word. Thanks, Dana!
Whoa vs. woah: a generational divide [link]
I ageee with Dana, it is tacky. Insensitive also.
"woah" is totally wrong.
"woah" is totally wrong.
It drives me insane. (Though not as bad as people misusing "awe" when they mean "aw.")
