Also? I HATE A COVER LETTER. They make me want to just spam resume only submissions.

ARRRRRRGH.
Two things:
1) This video interview. I re-read the job description carefully, and did some google searching...and just found they hired a SENIOR (position) last month. This one is just a (position). WTF. Not sure how these interact or whether they'd hire another senior person, but I don't think I'd want it if there's someone senior to me who also just started??
2) Motherfucking health insurance. Jesus. So I lost coverage at the end of July. It has taken until NOW to get the COBRA coverage up and running (luckily I didn't have any urgent medical needs, but still feels like a waste). So I was ready to refill a prescription, and come to find out, the PRESCRIPTION BENEFITS is different, and THEY think that my coverage ended in August (!?!) and they don't get notified of COBRA they have to hear it from my employer?!? So now I have to urgently email the HR person (who is not a benefits person, and whose phone number in her signature is wrong) and find out how to fix that, before running out of medication. AND when I asked the prescription people about getting reimbursed, their plan was "we mail you a form. You fill it out and mail in the receipt" like that is the slowest process EVER.
ETA: AND I just double-posted? ARRGH
Health insurance issues are extraordinarily frustrating.
Also? I HATE A COVER LETTER.
I love cover letters! Just give me a better feel for the person.
Oh, man, meara, how aggravating!
My cover letter by Rebecca Boston.
HI - I need a job. I think I could do the job you need. I CAN SPELL!
- super professionally, Rebecca.
meara, when we got COBRA up and running, there was a lag from the time COBRA told us our coverage was in place to the time that the insurance company had that information. So I tried to refill a prescription, and the pharmacy was still getting the info that we were no longer insured.
Although the thing where the benefits changed? No idea. I feel like your benefits shouldn't change unless your company's benefits change, and I don't think they can do that in the middle of the year...
Insurance stuff is the Worst(TM).
When I'm taking a chance and just throwing my info at a position that looks cool I don't track it. But when I was unemployed and applying for dozens of positions every week, I definitely pulled out the Google sheets. It was very helpful.
Dana, it's more the weird part where they insisted they don't hear it from the insurance company, only from my company. Which seems v indirect. And that they're saying my prescription coverage went until 31Aug, even though my health insurance didn't?!
I hope you took care of yourself, Gud.
I got to do more Actual Job today... which involved some actual driving! The regular passenger work car is a Subaru Impreza with all the bells and whistles, so I did a couple test runs with my supervisor to some of the more common destinations (like Star Market and MGH) and showed off my mad driving skills.. in a most sedate and safe way, of course.
And then there was a group expedition to the Legal Seafood restaurant about a mile away -- with 8 residents, two of the Activities Coordinators, two brand new interns, and me. With 5 walkers to wrangle. And we workers got comped lunch, too! Nice little benefits with the job, huh!
