I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

meara, when we got COBRA up and running, there was a lag from the time COBRA told us our coverage was in place to the time that the insurance company had that information. So I tried to refill a prescription, and the pharmacy was still getting the info that we were no longer insured.

Although the thing where the benefits changed? No idea. I feel like your benefits shouldn't change unless your company's benefits change, and I don't think they can do that in the middle of the year...

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Insurance stuff is the Worst(TM).

When I'm taking a chance and just throwing my info at a position that looks cool I don't track it. But when I was unemployed and applying for dozens of positions every week, I definitely pulled out the Google sheets. It was very helpful.

Dana, it's more the weird part where they insisted they don't hear it from the insurance company, only from my company. Which seems v indirect. And that they're saying my prescription coverage went until 31Aug, even though my health insurance didn't?!

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

I hope you took care of yourself, Gud.

I got to do more Actual Job today... which involved some actual driving! The regular passenger work car is a Subaru Impreza with all the bells and whistles, so I did a couple test runs with my supervisor to some of the more common destinations (like Star Market and MGH) and showed off my mad driving skills.. in a most sedate and safe way, of course.

And then there was a group expedition to the Legal Seafood restaurant about a mile away -- with 8 residents, two of the Activities Coordinators, two brand new interns, and me. With 5 walkers to wrangle. And we workers got comped lunch, too! Nice little benefits with the job, huh!

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Go Theo!

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

I just had to share this. Latvia's starting to look good.

Our wings are not tired.

Woo, Theodosia! Makes the day go faster than watching videos, no doubt.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

I'd hoped to be able to get out and do some fun stuff on a vacation day today, but it was in the mid 90s (heat index over 100°), so I just ran errands that I'd been needing to take care of. Still, glass desktop ordered, raggedy favorite shirt turned over to be hemmed, birthday card bought, and I established that Target doesn't have any necklace chains that will keep my tiny flash drive tethered so it doesn't go AWOL.

At least a really good BBQ truck made a surprise return to the city, so lunch was the best ribs I've had all year.

brillig

Latvia's starting to look good.

I'm afraid to go to Latvia, I'm afraid I'd call it Latveria.
