Applying for jobs is THE WORST. I am trying to do the best I can and so am reading thoroughly each job description that I find appropriate/interesting, then tailoring my resume. Then entering it into a spreadsheet once applied so I can track who when and where I applied.

Yeah, I never like job hunting even when I just let recruiters take care of most of it.
I don't know if it's helpful or not but this was my last resume after making changes recruiters suggested. Got a bit distorted turning into an image, but it's still readable. Not that I claim to have the best resume layout ever, but it did get worked over by people in the biz.
I wish I was as organized as you, msbelle. I sent out a bunch of resumes but didn't make good notes about who & when, so now when I look at the job listings I'm getting I have to wonder if it sounds familiar just because I've heard the name, or did I already apply or...?
I used a Kanban board to keep track of things during the last couple of job hunts.
Epic - I have never done a spreadsheet before and only doing so now because I had those issues before AND I am super scatterbrained at the moment.
I always just save the cover letter with the company name in my file name and call it a day, but also it's been a long time since I did a wide search.
It was cold enough to break out the fall wardrobe. I love my summer dresses and skirts, but I feel more Me in jeans.
Also? I HATE A COVER LETTER. They make me want to just spam resume only submissions.
ARRRRRRGH.
Two things:
1) This video interview. I re-read the job description carefully, and did some google searching...and just found they hired a SENIOR (position) last month. This one is just a (position). WTF. Not sure how these interact or whether they'd hire another senior person, but I don't think I'd want it if there's someone senior to me who also just started??
2) Motherfucking health insurance. Jesus. So I lost coverage at the end of July. It has taken until NOW to get the COBRA coverage up and running (luckily I didn't have any urgent medical needs, but still feels like a waste). So I was ready to refill a prescription, and come to find out, the PRESCRIPTION BENEFITS is different, and THEY think that my coverage ended in August (!?!) and they don't get notified of COBRA they have to hear it from my employer?!? So now I have to urgently email the HR person (who is not a benefits person, and whose phone number in her signature is wrong) and find out how to fix that, before running out of medication. AND when I asked the prescription people about getting reimbursed, their plan was "we mail you a form. You fill it out and mail in the receipt" like that is the slowest process EVER.
ETA: AND I just double-posted? ARRGH
