Yay for the house. That is so awesome.

I don't mean to keep posting about mom but it's keeping me from freaking out. She saw the various physical and occupational therapists. They are recommending a week or so of inpatient rehab. Especially because she lives alone and she doesn't have the sensation or control to cook or prepare food. Or even open up a microwave meal at this time. they think a short stint of intensive therapy will get her back to 100% faster.

It's in Asheville. It means she would transfer there from the hospital which she doesn't want. She wants to go home. See her cat, take a shower but I don't trust her to climb in and out of the tub.

So we are now waiting on the doctor. It6only 9:30 am but neither of us slept well.

Mom drove herself to the ER.

Oh askye, I hope she recovers well. Yeah, I'm not sure what I would do, probably would call a relative/friend before 911. I don't think I would drive. Step-dad a couple weeks ago drove himself via mountain roads 12 miles to the health clinic because he was losing feeling in his arms and legs!!! Um, you need those things to drive. The health clinic called the ambulance and drove him to the hospital.

I'm glad Mac is communicating somewhat!

x-post. I hope the hospital persuades her to transfer to rehab. Rehab is so important and effective. They wouldn't release my mother until she could do several things from a check off list. She complained, but never insisted on being released against doctors orders.

Sorry, askye, that sounds like a lot.

Especially if she lives alone, I really hope she'll do the rehab! I feel like I would be more worried about going home alone than eager to be back in my own house, but who's to say.

I certainly get wanting to leave the hospital as quickly as possible, but making sure you're well first is the key to avoiding a return visit!

Mom is definitely doing rehab. I came to her house to get a shower and check on the cats and get her clean underwear and her phone charger and earbuds.

I tried to make some phone calls but they upgraded the cell towers to 4g and her booster doesn't work any more and my phone doesn't do call over wi fi. Or maybe straight talk doesn't on Verizon towers. I don't know.

I may need a new phone. I don't know how to figure out what to get so I can make calls from here. Not sure texts go through either.

I was looking around for a notepad to help me make lists and plans and found the note she wrote. I am so mad and hurt thatinstead of calling 911 when she was afraid she might die in her sleep she wrote a note. But I'm not going to dwell on it right now and head back to the hospital and make some calls.
