Steph, how many opioids did they say to give people post surgery? Or what's the restrictive part?
Well, the article is only about women who had laparoscopic OB/GYN or abdominal surgery, who received opioids in the hospital -- what they restricted was the prescription for opioids after they were discharged from the hospital. The program prescribes 3 days of opioids, which was 12 pills.
But again, this is just laparoscopic OB/GYN or abdominal surgery. Other forms of surgery that are more invasive and extensive are going to need more drugs after discharge.
My mom prefers aspirin and doesn't really keep any other painkillers in the house, which we rediscover every time I am over there and get a headache (I've never been able to take aspirin and Mom used to get Tylenol for me when I lived there, somehow we are both always a little surprised that there isn't any lurking in a medicine cabinet)
My doctor friends say if aspirin was "invented" today they would charge a small fortune for the stuff. Mostly they are still fans.
Also, just got back from voting! Woo! Waited about an hour in line. The consensus of my companions in line was that long lines are a very good thing. The woman right behind us was from Chicago and agreed that the politics there are far more interesting than here.
I'm going to have a small viewing party on election night. Right now the menu includes blueberry muffins, blue corn chips and something, and a blue punch of some sort. Blue drinks are easy enough, but there are not a whole lot of blue foods. Don't need much though. We are talking small group.
Bleu cheese?
I took the day off work for my birthday today, with the intention to spend the day reading and relaxing. Instead, Jane spiked a fever last night, so I am home taking care of a sick toddler.
Bleu cheese?
Yes, thank you. I had thought of serving that with the blue chips, but forgot to write it down.
Aww, I hope Jane is feeling better now. May she spoil you with good behavior for your birthday.
Do they sell blue-only popsicles?
I am working from home today and work is annoying, so I am text-banking instead and I actually found a text bank for a local race!!! SO excite. 500 texts out and I only got 3 back cursing me so far. also one telling me I was a baby killer and to read the bible.
Today at work has been the worst. I think I will be here until 11 p.m. tonight to make sure it doesn't get more awful for my employees.
I've received quite a few texts and each time respond back with encouraging words. Haven't had any from the other side. I wouldn't be rude to them though.
