I look more rad than Lutheranism

Holy shit, AO3 won the Hugo.

That is so goddamn fantastic!

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

I first read that as AOC and was very confused.

In other news one of the potential mass murderers mentioned in this news story [link] is a student at a school I teach at (although currently under indefinite suspension).

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

Oh, jeez, DX.

currently under indefinite suspension

Before or after he got busted, may I ask?

After. Banned from campus, too. (Not that the last is really a deterent, since the campus is wide open.)

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Oh yikes.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

today I picked up the dogs from sitters and then had a pretty lazy day. I got my new printer/scanner set up and then I tried to do one or two bits of straightening or putting things away each time I got up. I have a half filled box of things to get rid of from my kitchen and I got a pile of clothes put away into storage bags. Not bad.

I think I am going to take a book and go to bed early. Back to work tomorrow seems like a cruel joke.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Woo, AO3!

Yikes, DXM

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

So my parents are looking at burial plots. They want to know if I want a plot with them. I have until Friday to decide. I really have no idea.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

So stoked about AO3.

I've seen people arguing that only the infrastructure of AO3 got nominated; but without the content there would be no reason for the nomination. Who pays attention to an empty database? So I'm totally happy claiming one-one-millionth of a Hugo for myself.

Theo, I'm so sorry to hear about your cousin, that's just horrifying.

Go go msbelle with the new house!

I did almost nothing useful today, but I met my niece's new puppy and went for a walk and bought wine and made cookies.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

aurelia, based on my recent experience, say yes -- if you predecease your parents it will be one less decision they have to make (and even if you pass at 110, whoever is around doesn't have to find you a plot) and it will probably also give them some peace of mind to picture all three of you tucked away in a pretty cemetery plot.

I am seriously thinking about setting money aside to be buried in Mt Auburn Cemetery, which still accepts new internments, on the basis that it's super pretty (people walk around it just to look at the graves) and if I'm ever going to be dug up by archaeologists in 3000 AD, its more likely to be there.
