Because books.

Screen shots confuse me. But that's about it.

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

It's the day before last of the intensive summer semester of math and stats and economics, and my body is celebrating with a nasty virus that's forcing me stay in bed. Damn you, body. I did not survive many hours of mumbling math genius professor for this.

Our wings are not tired.

I have seriously suggested to some of my doctors that they hire a scribe to follow them around and do their computer work. They are not trainable.

Punishingly Intricate

They choose not to be trainable, Laura.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Sophia would make a good Penelope Garcia, I think. It's the role you were born to play!

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

First day of Worldcon. The place is packed. We were unable to get into a panel Hippocampus was moderating because the room was full.

Our wings are not tired.

Mom would let us show her pictures on the computer, and she would skype with the grandkids, but she wouldn't actually go so far as to touch the keyboard. Step-dad was into it for a bit, but after the last virus he got (oh there were many), he tossed the laptop in the garbage and refuses to try again.

I get it for people of a certain age, but younger people I may judge. My customers are well educated doctors and nurses, and too great a percentage of them would never consider exploring beyond what I teach them in excruciating detail. Then others will click every single thing, which is both good and bad.

brillig

"I'm afraid the computer will blow up if I hit the wrong thing!"

"There is nothing explosive in your computer unless it was put there."

That has actually reassured a couple of people.
