Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Ahhh, people are ridiculous. A senior colleague just emailed my team member asking her (team member) to call her (senior colleague), because "I can't find your phone number." It's in the email she was replying to! And also in the team member's profile you can see by hovering over her name in Outlook! No clue where senior colleague was looking that she couldn't find it.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

I got kudos for being a good text banker, only a couple of recording errors in the 500 texts I've done so far. YAY!

I guess sometimes I do need the validation more than I think I do.

Between the campaign work I've neen doing for months and getting to organize a collection for local food banks through work I am really feeling the draw of moving back to non-profit work.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Go you, msbelle!

Go msbelle!! I was confused by text banking thinking "you're doing your work banking via texts now? That doesn't seem efficient??" Until I re-read it

"I'm useless alone." // "We're all useless alone. It's a good thing you're not alone."

I was also confused and thought "text banker" was somehow a career. Early morning meeting plus middle of the night cramps (thank you SO MUCH for that, body) plus husband waking up about half an hour before the alarm and also managing to thoroughly wake me up.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I just totally hit the wall. I got in and started a flurry of Getting Shit Done, which was good, and then I had some meetings, and now I should be getting more shit done, but wow. That doesn't feel like it's going to happen. Maybe I can at least get organized between now and a going-away party at 3:30.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Zen how long were you on the hard drugs? And when did you go back to work?

I went back to work a week after the surgery, and it was too soon. I should've taken another week.

It's been a year and a half since the accident and I still have a prescription for Percocet. I don't think you'll need it that long! That's due to my situation - the bone didn't heal; the tibia remained broken for a year and a half - so I was in pain a lot longer than I should have been!

I really should have gone back to the surgeon sooner, but everyone was warning me that it would never be the same, that with the cartilage gone in the ankle it would always hurt, so I just tried to adapt and endure.

I think I actually have no work to do? Weird. I maybe could find something if I was so inclined but I'm really really not.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

meara, have you tried medical marijuana or CBD oil? Neither is the answer for pain for everyone, but some it really does help a lot.

meara - Oct 23, 2018 11:53:06 am PDT #1057 of 30019

Theo, not yet. May possibly in the future but not until I'm on fewer other meds, I think, lest there be interactions.
