My mother made a vegan, gluten-free dinner for guests tonight, and it was delicious! Veggies over rice noodles with a nice gingery sauce, and also corn on the cob because it's August.

Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.

Yum!
Eek. I went ahead and did it. Booked a tour for a week and then didn't book a plane flight home for two more weeks after that. Aaaah!!!
Need some hive mind advice. I'm part of an organization where a member is always offering an opinion and trying to get involved in discussions that have nothing to do with their role. I'm trying to find a nice way to say to him "that's not your place." Like, you're the membership coordinator -- if you're at a meeting to give a report on membership, you don't get to opine on the budget allocation for staff. Any thoughts how to word it more politely? I'm a little peeved at him right now for causing an unnecessary swirl in a meeting tonight.
I wish I knew, Vortex. I'm surrounded by these people too.
You guys, I'm at work today, I don't have to evaluate functions with multiple variables for at least another ten hours today, the neurotic cat let me put an anti-flea collar on her in under two hours last night and I even got to do a bit of cooking and cleaning, so everything is wonderful for the time being (sans the news. Always sans the news).
Good stuff, Shir!
Vortex, I think tone is the trick, which is hard when you're peeved! But if you have any kind of leadership role, you can just say that, but nicely.
Vortex, is there anyway to broaden the comment to something along the lines of "for productive meetings we need to follow a strict agenda where members limit their contributions to their assigned role".
I was super lazy yesterday. Maybe today will be better?
Foster dog is with sitter. Now to do all the work on my desk.
Timelies all!
Got up at stupid o'clock to catch the train to Galway. Went to the aquarium and the City Museum, or at least as much as we could see with Mr. S. We're all tired now.
Did he enjoy the aquarium?
