Mal: Yeah, well, just be careful. We cheated Badger out of good money to buy that frippery, and you're supposed to make me look respectable. Kaylee: Yes, sir, Captain Tightpants.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Good luck, Sheryl.

That was fun. Went to urgent care for a migraine IV, and the NP on duty was like, I'm not the best at putting in IVs. He got it in the first try, which I appreciate, but I guess when he got it in, he didn't cap it initially? Anyway, he did something or neglected to do something, and I felt liquid dripping down my hand, and I thought, is that blood?

It was indeed blood. Not enough to be a problem, but enough to startle me. Not the kind of thing you expect when you get an IV put in. I think it's going to be a pretty spectacular bruise.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Oh no, Dana! That is disconcerting. Also, maybe that person should find someone else to handle the IVs???? And/or get better.

I have an IKEA shopping cart and an Amazon wishlist for the ew house - items total over $1000.

I remain obsessed with new house that is not yet mine.

Our wings are not tired.

I'm so excited for you, msbelle. Your wish list clearly shows restraint.

DH is on his way to Florida. I'm trying to decide on my first house project, but it is pretty chilly this morning so instead I made a new workout plan. An ambitious one, but doable.

My shopping needs to include sheets and blankets, and pillows. Trying to decide if I should do this in person or on line.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Thursday was the last day of summer school and I woke up on Friday with a TERRIBLE cold. I am just starting to feel human again, barely. Luckily, I'm off until Labor Day, so I have lots of time to reorganize closets, etc. once I am back to my usual vim and vigor.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

We're all packed up here. Flight is at 10pm.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

I'm still reeling in shock that Vividcon is no more. I mean, it's years since I attended, but now I can feel that it's even gone as a possibility.

And for some reason, this year it feels like SO MANY friends are attending Worldcon in Dublin. (This is not helped that I'm driving a friend to the airport tomorrow to catch her flight there.)

I'll just sit here stewing a little for a while, okay?

Came home from lunch with the parents to find Bailey the dog had destroyed two pages of work stuff.

I think I was able to piece it back enough to get the info I need off it, and there should be other copies of both pages.

UGH - doggo must be feeling the stress of the house.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

AUGH fucking urgent care didn't give me a steroid last night, because they don't do it if it's too late in the day because it messes with sleep, okay fine, but he didn't TELL ME, so I think the visit was pointless because it's the fucking steroid that gets rid of the migraine. Goddamnit.

I am working this afternoon to get a jump on this week since I'll be taking Thursday to travel and might be unavailable Friday to work remotely and/or there can always be issues with working remotely.

Just hit a block on a task that has to be done by tomorrow anyway. Division of labor between our offices on another does not seem to be working. They are not doing half of their part which keep me from being able to do any of mine.

I just emailed them and cc'd both of our bosses. I hope to push a chunk of this workload back to them and avoid this repetitive problem any longer.

Alas today I am just having to go in and do their bit so that I can can plug away.
