I like books. I just don't want to take on too much. Do they have an introduction to the modern blurb?

Buffy ,'Lessons'

Spike's Bitches 49: As usual, I'm here to help you, and I... are you naked under there?

Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Can I vague vent here? I am feeling like there's some serious dismissiveness and gaslighting going on around trans issues elsewhere and like it's being glossed over because most people there see other areas of marginalization as more valid and are making excuses for a repeat offender who is good about other areas of marginalization. And it's depresssing the crap outta me.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

I haven't read all of the threads, Plei, but I agree.

ION, I'm looking at my Facebook feed, and I keep seeing more invitations to health care rallies. I think I'm up to at least four in Cincinnati and one in Columbus (and I'm sure there are a lot more in Columbus that I haven't been invited to) within a three-day period. Which is good, but I kind of feel like that might mean that each individual one might have fewer people, rather than one big crowd that might get more attention.

I am not saying anything, because I don't think it's helpful at this point, but man, it sucks.

Like, person, you are acting exactly like other people called on their stuff! Doubling down and getting defensive! How are you not seeing this? And no, marginalized people were not singled out for call outs! (Though this also illustates some of my issues with call out culture.)

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

Preach it, Plei. And no one can say anything because then we're dismissing an individual who belongs to a marginalized group.

If I want to become a cloud of bats, does each bat need a separate vaccination?

I think I'm glad to be out of the loop on this one.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Vague vent received and nodded tiredly at.

Be so glad. The passive aggressive level is off the charts.

The really sad thing is, I skipped over that thread, and when I saw a lot of stuff about transphobic threads I thought it was a whole other thread that had ALSO devolved into TERFy nonsense.

My head and my desk have been BFFs all weekend.

Disingenuous fuckwittery.

Our wings are not tired.

I think I'm glad to be out of the loop on this one.

Well yes, but are we therefore marginalized?
