What you did to me was unbelievable, Connor. But then I got stuck in a hell dimension by my girlfriend one time for a hundred years, so three months under the ocean actually gave me perspective. Kind of a M.C. Escher perspective, but I did get time to think.

Spike's Bitches 49: As usual, I'm here to help you, and I... are you naked under there?

Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

I've found that, in addition to exercises, etc., massaging my feet helps - I use my thumbs to press on the bottom of my foot under the arch, rubbing along that muscle. It seems to help it loosen up a bit.

Our wings are not tired.

Brendon is more brutal with his, actually pounding the heel, which he claims helps.

You've got friends to have good times with. When you need to share the trauma of a badly-written book with someone, that's when you go to family.

I'm still sore, but turns out I am one of the people who can sleep through the night with the splint on, and I'm back to being able to put weight on it when I get out of bed in the morning.

Since this IS Bitches, it seemed appropriate to repeat this news with comment I spotted:

Bridgerton heartthrob Rege-Jean Page has been case in the life-action DUNGEONS & DRAGONS movie alongside Chris Pine

I clearly will not be watching this film for the plot

move out and draw fire

I had plantar fascitis in 2019 and this little nubbly ball was the best thing. I kept it in the freezer between uses. If you can borrow a Theragun from someone I bet that would help also.

I'm torn in three directions about the D&D movie: 1) nothing made under that label has ever been good, 2) the cast is pretty enough to watch it anyway, and 3) dammit I've had a script for a D&D movie in draft for years. I shall file it with my Wonder Woman script.

Ann, that's a ferret.

Because of my CIDP, I have 2 sets of braces. The ankle braces for daytime wear are NOT designed for walking without a shoe. As I learned in a painful way sometime around the third day of wear. Luckily, there’s a cat tree about 3 steps from the couch.

Then there are the night braces (technically, “resting braces”), which are more or less boots with straps across the front. The straps are supposed to be set as tight as I can stand. About once a week, a strap (usually one that goes across the top of the foot) becomes so painful in the middle of the night that I remove the brace.

This seemed like the place to mention this, but a customer in a Target - in Florida, I think - was arrested for having sex (or attempting to) with two large stuffed toys. One unicorn and one the snowman from Frozen. ick

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

Sequentially or simultaneously? Inquiring minds want to know.

Sequentially. Also from Florida - guess he was hoping for Spring Break.

Follow-up foot doctor visit!

Dr. P. wheeled himself in on a knee scooter, with his left foot in a boot. This is an interesting way to start the visit. He'd borked something running and decided to take the relative downtime to finally get it sorted, but as the aide who did the initial intake was also wearing a boot . . . .

I'm healing up well; I can call back in another three weeks for a physical therapy referral if I'm not happy with my progress, so it's "Do I want to spend the money on deep tissue foot massage?" Probably not, but it's good to have the option.

(If I won the lottery, I'd blow it on books, a Pilates Reformer and a weekly massage from my friend Calli.)
