I am so burned out on being in holiday retail right now. I'm over it. I'm over everything. We ran out of gift boxes. The dept store used to do gift wrap all year , they dont' anymore. No gift wrap. Boxes are only during Xmas and they underordered because the warehouse is out so we aren't getting any. But honestly if we had enough for everyone they'd complain about a lack of tissue paper or gift wrap or whatever.
I'm not sleeping well, I'm PMSing, I've lost my bottle of vyvanse and so I'm using the 20 mg pills I had leftover and I can feel the difference and Monday I'm going to have to rush around and deal with my car registration and I just want to be alone for 2 days with junk food and fanfic and watch Batwoman and not have to worry about anyone.
erikaj really jumped on it! My first was from you, too!
I'm up to 9 fails of quality for the month and it's only half over. I don't see my future as bright.
I have three Buffista cards now! It's awesome!
Wow, im not even getting the cards I ordered until like Tuesday, I definitely won't be sending them until closer to New Years! But they are New Years cards, so...
The box thing is ridiculous. One store had run out of boxes on the 14th and wasn't ordering more. Another store had a bullshit sign saying that they were going "green" and weren't offering boxes this year. How about passing some of those savings along, hm?
I designed my own cards this year. Just have to print them out. And then find time to get stamps. These will probably arrive closer to New Year's, but it's all part of the season, right?
Old Christmas is Jan. 7th, or 8th, or something. H's folks weren't orthodox but we fudged and used "Old Christmas" as an excuse on occasion. Most folks are glad to hear or get a present off-schedule, I think.
Pretty sure it's explicitly in the exchange rules that New Years still counts. WE ARE NOT LATE. (And if I'm misremembering, well, that's still my story and I'm sticking to it.)
Jan 7, Bev. My Dad's family was very Russian Orthodox and my mother found Russian Xmas (as we called it) being after Epiphany/Twelfth Night very confusing! Did make it easy to decide when to see which grandparents over the holidays.
