The way our school district works is that, as an Autism Spectrum Paraprofessional, I am guaranteed a position, but what school and what program changes based on need. We find out this week where we assigned and I have been checking my email every, um, two minutes all day.
I asked to go back to the Transitions program for adults 18-26 I worked at last fall and loved, so keep your fingers crossed. I could end up with preschoolers, or as a one-on-one or who knows.
Got my assignment. As I suspected, preschoolers. Not that I don't love preschoolers, but it's LOTS more chasing kiddos and wiping butts than in higher grades which is why those with more seniority tend to avoid it. Still better than doing HR, though.
Ooh, yikes, Scrappy. I hope you find some joy in it, and maybe next year get to go back to other things?
Well, each year I gain seniority and am more likely to get an assignment I want, so you never know.
Good news: Tim's doctor talked to the lab people, and he ordered a drug test just for methylphenidate that's separate from the bigger drug screen. I think he's going on Monday to take it, and everything should be copacetic.
Oh Good. I know that's a huge relief.
Steph, I'm so glad everything has been worked out for Tim. He's lucky to have you in his corner.
I'm going for my first mammogram today.
Ah, fun times, sj. Hope they go easy on you.
