Jayne: Well... I don't like the idea of someone hearin' what I'm thinkin'. Inara: No one likes the idea of hearing what you're thinking.

'Objects In Space'

Spike's Bitches 49: As usual, I'm here to help you, and I... are you naked under there?

Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Oh, Laura. I'm sorry. I wish we had a magical solution for you.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

Can you (and the roommates) get Narcan in the house, for a just-in-case situation?

That's a really good idea, Cindy.

Our wings are not tired

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

Oh Laura and family. This is such a difficult and heartbreaking situation. And your kid has an amazing support net. Lots of thoughts and ~ma to you.

Our wings are not tired.

I love you all. Thank you for giving me a safe place to let some of this out. I will look into the Narcan option. At least 2 of his roommates have EMS training and the next door neighbor "friend" is where this issue originated, and the evicted visiting girl. The roommies are on a new level of alert but they would probably like having that option. Life in the big city, they at least got a quick and overwhelming response from emergency services when they called 911.

Punishingly Intricate

Laura, I'm so sorry.

Because books.

I'm so sorry, Laura. Parenting is sometimes harder the older your children get. Much love to you and Brendon, and to your son.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I'm sorry your family is going through this, Laura. I'm glad you guys have such a strong network of loving friends to help support you.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

This is just beyond heartbreaking, Laura.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Laura, I'm so sorry, for all of you.

On some level, he must know and accept that he needs help, or he wouldn't be as accepting of help from his family and friends as he is. That's the bright spot that I see. If he were entirely rejecting help, god forbid, it would be nearly hopeless. As it is, there's hope. Hold on to him (as if you wouldn't)--knowing that you're always there for him is probably his lifeline.
