Where'd they get CAT scan from?... I mean, did they test it on cats? Or does the machine sort of look like a cat?

Spike's Bitches 49: As usual, I'm here to help you, and I... are you naked under there?

Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

It does! Rolling eyes, slamming doors etc.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

The sitter is getting paid! She (or he) has to deal with it. You do not.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

Besides, you deal with it on an ongoing basis - the sitter comes, sits and leaves.

What is even happening?

I thought (with all three kids) that the so-called terrible twos were a breeze, and was ticked off that no one warned me about three. "Threenager" is a perfectly cromulent word for it.

I think they're big enough to want to be big kids, but get really tired out and frustrated from trying to be big kids, and they just don't have the emotional control that even a four year old can summon. So they're big babies, but more willful and more verbal than regular babies.

Did you go out for the tantrum, sj, or did you let it wind down on its own?

I went to sleep, Cindy and let the sitter deal with it. I would have probably only made it worse anyway.

Good for you, and that's what I was thinking -- not that you would make it worse, but that she knows how to get to you, whereas the baby sitter can more easily disengage emotionally.

I hope you have a good night, sj.

Because books.

I remember four as lovely, if that helps.

::distributes chocolate and booze for the meantime::

Me too.

(Well, I have no chocolate and no booze, but I thought four was generally fantastic. I hope it's so for you too, sj.)

I like 4 year olds. They can be reasoned with a bit more. Things aren't going ltc's way it's just automatic meltdown. It's exhausting. I'm not sleeping right now because I'm having terrible sciatica pain, which has been going on for a least a week now.

Always Anti-fascist!

Better than expected dental cleaning. Guess the Sonicare(AKA Like The El Train, but It Makes You Spit) is worth the money and effort. Good to know.ETA: I would have kid in a second if one could start from four on, somehow. Though I'm not sure how one would deliver that.
