I put my first colonoscopy off a little -- I was 51. The day of fasting wasn't as bad as expected as long as I was able to drink bouillon. I'll also say that "clean-out" wasn't as bad as expected, but that's as much because of my expectations as the experience. I was out for the procedure itself. And Hubs and I have a deal -- we go out to lunch afterward, and he who had the colonoscopy decides where.

Spike's Bitches 49: As usual, I'm here to help you, and I... are you naked under there?
Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
If I could drive myself home, I'd schedule the damned thing, but I don't want to have to impose on someone.
I had blood tests done yesterday, and my doctor just called because one of my results was off. She had a bunch of questions for me, and she wants me to get that test redone, and I was stupid and googled what that test means. I should wait until I get the second test and the results come back before I start worrying. Right?
Right.
Yes. Dr. Google is not your friend. There is a good reason they retest. Long lists of stuff can throw off tests.
OK. I'm getting the blood tests redone tomorrow. I also looked at my results online and noticed another result that was outside the normal range that concerned me, which she didn't mention, so I sent a message to her about that.
The doctor responded about the other test that was concerning me (which was a liver function test.) She said that it's not far enough outside the normal range to be concerning, and they'll test again in six weeks.
Hil, my sister in blood tests.
Yesterday, in talking with my doc about my utter exhaustion and somewhat out of control depression. She added some additional blood tests since anemia, low B12, low vitamin D, and hypothyroid, all issues I have, can result in my current systems.
Lab results came in today and all my levels are normal. Which, great for the big picture, but no answers for the current situation. That means this low is all from exhaustion, pain, and stress. We are tweaking a couple of meds, so I hope those help.
this low is all from exhaustion, pain, and stress.
Those are HUGE factors, though. Depression is a "normal" reaction to even one of those, let alone 3. I hope the med tweaks get you back on track!
Suzi, I forget how long ago your surgery was, but that can also play a role. I think it was Steph who reassured me that post-surgery blues are a real thing.
