Buffy: He ran away, right? Giles: Sort of, more. turned and swept out majestically, I suppose. Said I didn't concern him. Buffy: So a mythic triumph over a completely indifferent foe? Giles: Well, I'm not dead or unconscious, so I say bravo for me.

Spike's Bitches 49: As usual, I'm here to help you, and I... are you naked under there?

Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

Alas, the lady finding a replacement for her on her press trip adjusted her schedule so she'd be able to go on it. Bye bye Sardinia dreams (for now.)

... but I did get a nibble on something I sent out months ago, so that's exciting! Fingers crossed.

Our wings are not tired.

Oh well, less disappointing than another replacement being selected. Yay for unexpected nibbles!!

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

I finished all the proctoring of finals that I need to do. Still need to grade the statistics final, and grade a couple of late calculus finals, and figure out semester grades, and deal with students who don't like their semester grades. And then it will be summer.

I have a painkiller prescription waiting for me at CVS. But I'm in a ton of pain, and getting to CVS and picking up the prescription will be painful. Stupid body.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Sorry, Hil. That's just the last straw.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Ugh Hil, is there someone who can pick it up for you?

brillig

In weird Avengers-adjacent revelations, I've been bouncing between various boards bibbling about Infinity War. There are four over on Ravelry, where the widows board I've been on is at. There are a lot of sad women over there who have been widowed longer than I, and they're still having trouble coping with the world and finding something to occupy themselves. I'm having arguments with strangers on just how much of an idiot StarLord is and fuming about how long we have to wait till the next Avengers movie.

Thank you, fandom.

Thrive to spite them

Work is very frustrating right now.

I had an argument with a co worler. She's been part time for 12 years , she works weekends and then works at the VA doing claims during the week. She's really knowledgeable.

This is great . She is also super neat and tidy and doesn't like any kind of clutter. This because an issue when we organize the stock room. The way she would like it (and honestly would be the best) is if each style of shoe was on the shelves in their own column.

My manager wants shoes stacked to the tip self and for it to kind of snake up and around. If one column of shoes end the next style goes on top and then when we run out of room it goes on the next shelf.

This can be very confusing to find shoes.

So I decided to try and do what my manager wants since he's the manager but keep separation between brands and colors. To make it easier to find shoes.

It got a bit heated when she kept saying that the managers way means moving shoes all the time when we get new styles and I was saying we stull have to move shoes around if we do it her way.

Which we do. It was her way and I had to love 4 columns of shoes to get one style in. So it's frustrating because I think I handled it badly and I also feel like every weekend she ends up tidying nd orgnzing and I don't mean for her to do that but she's much more efficient than I am and it tends to be a bit slower when she works.

Sorry to vent.

On the other hand we are having a big special event sale tomorrow and did pre sales for it. There is a contest and shoes is kicking butt. If the new girl can make her sales goal tonight we have a chance to be the #1 dept. They are running a contest. But to win everyone in the dept has to make their goal.

I don't know what happens if no dept makes their goal. I guess no winner which sucks. This morning we were at 61% and even if we got to 100% but the new girl missed her goal we wouldn't win.

I know my own heart and understand my fellow man. But I am made unlike anyone I have ever met. I dare to say I am like no one in the whole world. - Anne Lister

Today is the birthday of my sweet, talented friend John, who died over a year ago at age 42 basically because he didn't have health insurance. Fuck this country.
