My kids loved daycare. The socialization is great for them.

Spike's Bitches 49: As usual, I'm here to help you, and I... are you naked under there?
Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
But I don't work outside of the home so the idea just feels a little awful. I sent an inquiry about price and availability to the daycare down the street anyway. I also managed to shower and get dressed and make an onerous phone call.
You get time for self-care, ltc gets socialization and a stronger immune system. Trust me, there is no downside.
If it's only two half days a week, sj, could you reframe it in your mind as preschool? Would that make it more acceptable?
I really think ltc will love it. I made a second inquiry to the JCC one town over, and I'll talk to TCG about it tonight.
It's relatively recent that a woman was truly alone at home with her kids. Having a girl in the house to help with the chores went fairly far down the economic ladder, or the women were in and out of each others homes to do communal housework and childcare.
My inlaws will give me a hard time, but I don't really want them here more often than they are. It's not really a break for me.
My inlaws will give me a hard time,
I bet it wouldn't be hard to set up a schedule of people to anonymously annoy your in-laws for every time they harass you.
Before the kids went to daycare I had family members stay with me to help. A sister-in-law, a nephew, a niece, and a cousin. DH's cousin loved to take the boys to the mall because it was a serious chick magnet.
My inlaws will give me a hard time,
Lie if required. Say the pediatrician recommended it. (Mine really did) eta: but I would never hesitate to lie if someone gave me a hard time about any parenting decision I made.
