Gunn: The final score can't be rigged. I don't care how many players you grease, that last shot always comes up a question mark. But here's the thing. You never know when you're taking it. It could be when you're duking it out with the Legion of Doom, or just crossing the street deciding where to have brunch. So you just treat it like it was up to you—the world in balance—'cause you never know when it is.

'Underneath'

Spike's Bitches 49: As usual, I'm here to help you, and I... are you naked under there?

Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

I second the icing, Hil.

ION, which may be of interest to Bitches, my friend who works at an independent school here in L.A. gave a tour to a prospective couple today. Joseph Gordon-Levitt and his wife. She reports that they were both charming and spent a lot of the tour holding hands. Choosing kindergarten is a big deal and they were quite adorably serious and excited. She literally texted me the second they left, as we have both long had crushes on Mr. G-L.

information libertarian

Isn't their kid still a baby? (I googled, and their older son is 2 and they had a second son this summer. Does she maybe have an older child from a previous relationship? Or maybe the 2 year old is a super genius...)

I would believe JGL has a super genius. Or possible pre-K-3?

Pre-k, I think.

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

So I'm back in DC for the next 2.5 days for work. I'll actually be seeing some of my former coworkers, and spending a decent amount of time on the Hill. Sunday would have been my and Rob's 12th anniversary, and the drive in and seeing things that are so familiar yet no longer "mine" are using up whatever spoons I have left rapidly. Please let me just get through the next few days without losing it. I'm already on thin ice.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

Vibes and ~ma to you, Maria. If I could give you some of my small reserve of spoons, I would (eta: I actually do have a couple to spare just at present; if I could donate them to a Buffista spoon bank, I would).

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

So much love to you, Maria.

And to everyone else.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Tons of ~ma Maria.
