Spike's Bitches 49: As usual, I'm here to help you, and I... are you naked under there?
Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
I also just tend to get really antsy when people are in my space when I didn't prepare for it. Like, if I invite someone over, then that's fine, but someone just stopping by without notice makes me anxious.
Me too. When I lived in NJ, often I would come home to workmen's boot prints on the kitchen floor and a note that said "We were in your apartment today!" Landlords, maintenance guys, state inspectors, half the time would give me a day's notice and half the time none at all. Fuck that. It's honestly one of the reasons I was determined to buy a house. I don't want anyone having the right to come into my living space without my knowledge and consent.
So far I've gotten warning that maintenance would be done, but I expect that if there was a problem with a leak somewhere that they'd be in without warning if need be. I should probably wear more clothes when I'm at home.
Blah. My sinuses are acting up now. And it's the last week of the semester, so I'm getting frantic emails from students.
Blah. My sinuses are acting up now.
The pressure is all over the place. I started fighting a migraine around 5:00, and my sinuses are none too happy, either.
Love waking up into a panic attack. I woke up at 4am in a cold sweat, calmed myself back down and slept a bit more. Then when I got up and checked e-mail, my company being bought out is official. I have links to a few things to play/read and I just can't bring myself to follow the links yet. Ugh. I know things won't change immediately...but after 26 years with this company...
Oh, that is stressful Suzi. Change is always stressful, but your history and experience is very valuable and that is much of what they are buying.
I feel like Billy from Family Circus (that is his name, right?)
Oh, it is past lunch, should throw food in the microwave.
While that is cooking, I should bring in the trash and recycling.
Oh, look. A fire truck about 4 houses down the street, what is happening. Slowly take in trash can.
Huh, no equipment being pulled from the truck and it looks like they are standing around. Slowly take in recycling.
Ugh, I left out a bunch of tools that I should really put away since I'm in the garage anyway.
I wonder if the truck is still there, OH, I should bring in the sunglasses that got left on the porch.
They are walking back to their truck, saying everything is ok. Good.
But can they make the turn in the cul-de-sac? Step into the shade cause it is hot as hades outside.
Oh, that truck has a better turn radius than I would have expected. But ack, there is a car parked in an awkward place. I bet he could have made it, but I bet it isn't worth the risk.
Ahhh, the house is so cool. Oh, is lunch ready?
But there was only a little bit of left overs, what else do I want?
Ok, now I have my lunch and can back to work. But I should go to the bathroom since I'm up.
Done, now back to work. Wait, where is my lunch.
That sounds very familiar to me, Suzi.
Laura - it is going to be like this through tomorrow night.
I have a ton of work to do because I'm taking Friday off for a small convention. I have a PT massage at 3 and then I HAVE to get some schoolwork done as I've allowed myself to fall way too far behind. I also need to pack for the weekend tonight.
Tomorrow is work, PT, hair cut, and then I pick up my Con roommate J and we head up to the Con hotel. Maybe grab dinner before we see if they need setting-up help before we go to sleep. Friday is set-up, attendees aren't due until 5pm, so hopefully it will be a low key day.
The one nice part of packing is that I'm borrowing two costumes from J, so I only need clothes for Friday, jammies, underthings, and toiletries. Plus my backpack with my computer, school stuff, GISHWHES picture books (the hunt starts on Saturday and I'm hoping to knock off some items with Con goers), and...oh snacks. I should pack some snacks. I need to mark this post for when I'm actually ready to pack.
Spike's Bitches 49 - featuring Suzi fussing about panic attacks, company buyouts, running in circles, running in more circles, and doing math.
Math, you say? Yes. I finally decided to see how much stock I have in my current company. It makes up a fair chunk of my 401k. The buyout is at 175% of the current internal stock value. And I just did that math on what I have. I won't be able to retire any earlier, but it doesn't suck either.
Not sure how it works since the stock is part of my 401k. I'm assuming I end up with Jacob's stock that I can then reallocate if I don't want to hold on to that. Wish I could get the 75% in cash. That would be pretty sweet.
