Lydia: Its removal from Burma is a felony and when triggered it has the power to melt human eyeballs. Giles: In that case I've severely underpriced it.

'Potential'

Goodbye and Good Riddance 2016: We know the world didn't end, because, check it out!

Every year we watch the Charlie Brown special, do the Snoopy dance, wish everybody a Merry Thanksgivukkahmas, and thank our Secret Santas in the good riddance thread. Which is this one, in case you were wondering.

Go away, 2016.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

That sounds almost like a fight song, smonster. You deserve to fight for yourself, and you deserve to count every victory, large or small.

askye, I hope your date goes well.

Ann, that's a ferret.

2016 will never be my favorite year. On top of the political and other macro-news that everyone is aware of:

Beginning of May: I have surgery to correct a severely deviated septum and extremely narrow sinus passages.

Middle of May: We lose Seamus to a rare form of cancer. (Rare in cats, anyway -- it isn't uncommon in dogs.)

July: Hubs's back goes out.

August: Hubs has two surgeries to correct his back. Which means I have to drive him everywhere through the end of October, which requires some delicate balancing of work and family commitments while Boss is trying to position me for a promotion (that I don't think I'll ever get, but that's another story).

November: Hubs has bariatric surgery.

December: Arthur becomes ill with what is diagnosed as pre-leukemia. Although the folks at the University of Georgia vet hospital are wondering whether he might have had only a simple infection.

I am not expecting a better 2017, certainly not on the macro level. I keep reminding myself that I'm now eligible to retire next year. (September 2018, to be more exact)

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

I also got a dumpster fire 2016 ornament from smonster! SO PERFECT. Thank you!

Our wings are not tired.

Yesterday I was gifted by the lovely Santameara but I waited until this morning while sipping delicious Chocolate Chili Chai to post the pictures. [link] Penzey's spice, because spice is life, and silicone mini muffin pans that I have been wanting to try, and more pretty silicone kitchen utensils too! And chocolate! Thank you so much for the awesome gifting!

Our wings are not tired.

Timing was perfect! I was too crazed over December to properly enjoy. I am looking forward to trying out the silicone pans. Thank you!

I've messaged some of you and I know several gifts are en-route, but if you have not received a gift, could you email me or PM me on FB?

Danger is my middle name, only I spell it R. u. t. h. - Tina Belcher.

I put my gift in the mail today, so I hope my poor giftee will have joy soon.

2016 sucked a lot on the macro and micro levels. I ate my depression so my doctor will not be happy with me when I have my physical next week. I blame Trump.

I just can't spell out what sucked for me personally. It's still too depressing to think about. But, I'm still here and I still have you guys, that helps in so many ways.

general hugs around, we all need them.
