A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Bryan Fuller is writing a pilot for the Vampire Chronicles TV series,

I would watch the hell out of this, just for the visuals.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

There was an amusing pop culture reference section that mentioned Buffy, Battlestar Galactica, GoT, Gossip Girl, and prob others I'm forgetting. Of course it was a convo between Eliot and Margo.

Yes, that was excellent. The subtitles were a nice touch.

If I want to become a cloud of bats, does each bat need a separate vaccination?

That entire conversation was GOLD. I'm not sure if I loved it more than last season's Les Miz, or if it's a very close second.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

Anyone check out Black Lightning tonight? It was GREAT!

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

I loved Black Lightning! I hope the quality stays up there.

So much for a lighter season of the Flash. That was depressing and also somehow boring st the same time.

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

I'm planning to watch Black Lightning tomorrow. Glad it's starting out good.

I honestly don't know if I'll watch the Flash, because I kind of don't care about this season. Maybe, though.

Black Lightning was SO GOOD.

And The Magicians keeps the Buffy references coming.

This season feels disconnected compared to S2, and somehow the stakes don't feel as high. I still love the show, but this season hasn't coalesced yet for me.

I'm catching up on this season's X-Files. Of all the things that could throw me out of it, watching a college math instructor work with transparencies on an overhead projector seems to have done the trick. I'm pretty sure my university hasn't had overhead projectors for a decade. There are loads of ways to project whatever's on your computer or tablet as well as a bunch of smart boards. Oh, I'll keep watching; it's a case of throwing me out of the moment, not the series. But lordy.

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

If it helps, both the university and the community college I teach at have document cameras as part of the AV system, which are functionally equivalent to overhead projectors, and the university still has a few actual overhead projectors for use in rooms without built-in AV systems (old buildings, limited budget).
