I'm a single undead gal trying to make it in the big city. I have to start somewhere and they're evil here. They don't judge. They've got necro-tempered glass. No burning up. A great medical plan, and who needs dental more than us?

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

Did anyone else watch the first episode of Midnight, Texas? I'd read the books and, well, hoped for the best.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

I watched it. They need to get a blank check to Alan Ball, stat.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

I've never read the books, but TVLine gave the pilot a 'D'. So, I decided to skip it. My DVR is already full as it is.

The plot moved faster than the first book - a lot of things that weren't revealed until fairly late came out quickly (think of Mr. Snuggly). And Manfred is totally not like he's described ... honestly, they could have done something to at least try to make him look right.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I kinda liked the pilot of Midnight, TX. It might help that I haven't read the books. I thought they did a good job of introducing a largish cast and showing what they can do. On the other hand, while the cast isn't entirely white (which is good), I would have expected a larger Latinx population. Maybe it'll be a plot point later? Or maybe it's just standard network tv racism.

Finally got around to watching Midnight, TX last night. I enjoyed it, definitely will be back for more eps. I didn't read the books for this series, but I did get introduced to Manfred & his grandmother in the Grave series. He didn't look like I pictured, but I did like the actor, so I'm getting past him not looking right. I was pleased to see some of the actors I recognized that I hadn't realized were going to be in it. And I agree with most or all of Calli's points above.
