Aw, bummer.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I kinda liked the pilot of Midnight, TX. It might help that I haven't read the books. I thought they did a good job of introducing a largish cast and showing what they can do. On the other hand, while the cast isn't entirely white (which is good), I would have expected a larger Latinx population. Maybe it'll be a plot point later? Or maybe it's just standard network tv racism.

Why isn't everyone pelting me with JOY, dammit? - Zenkitty

Finally got around to watching Midnight, TX last night. I enjoyed it, definitely will be back for more eps. I didn't read the books for this series, but I did get introduced to Manfred & his grandmother in the Grave series. He didn't look like I pictured, but I did like the actor, so I'm getting past him not looking right. I was pleased to see some of the actors I recognized that I hadn't realized were going to be in it. And I agree with most or all of Calli's points above.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

I got about halfway through Midnight Texas. I lost interest after some girl coldcocked Ghost Boy Protagonist for reasons. Maybe I wasn't paying enough attention.

No, her motivation was not as clear as it could have been.

If I want to become a cloud of bats, does each bat need a separate vaccination?

Do we talk about The 100 in this thread? I started watching on Netflix a couple of weeks ago, and I just started S2, and continue to be impressed with how well this show does social psychology. The elevator pitch of "100 unsupervised hot teens alone in the woods" does not appropriately set expectations of the kinds of issues this show is dealing with!

I like The 100. It's often kind of bonkers, but it commits.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

I enjoyed The 100 until diminishing returns on emotional investment sometime in S2.

I continue to be infatuated by Shadowhunters: the diverse cast, the well-integrated and casual addressing of class, racial, LGBTQ, and other driving social issues, and some resolutions, and my god, the pretty. Plot? NSM, but it's so gorgeous I really don't mind, at all.

Compassionately intolerant

I'm liking Midnight, TX, though I have to agree that some of the acting is WOOD-EN. But the bad actors are pretty (Winged Dude, I'm lookin' at you.) and the Grandma cracks me up.

I pop into the 100 every now and then but it is emotionally exhausting in large doses.

Did anyone watch Dominion?

Like Midnight, I had not read the source material, so I don't know if it was any good from that perspective. It was emotionally daunting at times to, but ASH! In a ever so very NOT Giles role.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

I really loved The 100 for the first 3 seasons but the level of emotional trauma kind of exhausted me. I saw the first 2 eps of s4, and I might just skip to the end.

My summary statement on The 100: it is a show in which there is no way to cheat the Kobayashi Maru test. There are no good solutions, just varying levels of bad decisions. Which I respect as a storytelling maneuver, but after a while, it gets hard to watch.
