Spike: Lots of fuss over one girl. Other things to do around here--important things. Angel: You know that whoosh thing you do when you're suddenly not there anymore? I love that.

Boxed Set, Vol. VI: I am not a number, I am a free thread!

A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

If Magicians is earning a comparison with Game of Thrones, I think I'll give it a pass.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

If Magicians is earning a comparison with Game of Thrones, I think I'll give it a pass.

I can't watch Game of Thrones, but I find The Magicians very watchable, FWIW. There is some serious violence, but it doesn't seem to be in the basic weave of the world in Magicians the way it is in GoT.

In spite of my constant grousing about Quentin and his hair and his truly ungodly level of McAlary-ness.

Quentin is the least of my reasons for watching. There are multiple female characters with their own arcs and purposes and comoplexities. Alice's arc surprised me several times. Julia and Kady are great!

Also, Penny is a delight, and I want to make him cookies and wrap him in a blanket. Eliot is so Eliot, and I've loved watching him develop.

If I want to become a cloud of bats, does each bat need a separate vaccination?

There is some serious violence, but it doesn't seem to be in the basic weave of the world in Magicians the way it is in GoT.

I think I disagree, but the main difference, I think, is that the characters don't take the level of violence for granted when it happens, which makes a huge difference in terms of emotional heft. Honestly, GoT is easier for me to watch because it really is just pure gratuitous spectacle - if certain characters are killed off, I'll be upset because the show will be boring without them, but I'm not really going to be sad about it.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Supergirl: seriously the DEO doesn't send a backup team with Kara and Alex?

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

They don't bother to vet or even just retrain returning agents who've been held in captivity for 14 years, so not remembering to send backup seems par for the course. Also, how did the physical they did on Jeremiah miss the fact that he has a robot arm?

"I'm useless alone." // "We're all useless alone. It's a good thing you're not alone."

Was Central City always in the middle of a forest, down the road from a picturesque cliff convenient for assembling your gorilla army?

"I'm useless alone." // "We're all useless alone. It's a good thing you're not alone."

And do they not realize that Harry is using his gorilla voice?

"I'm useless alone." // "We're all useless alone. It's a good thing you're not alone."

Okay, I guess he wasn't. Maybe it was his attempt at distinguishing Harry from H.R.

Is Chase still the D.A. while acting as Oliver's lawyer? Is that...supposed to work somehow?

I am now rooting for Thea as next season's villain.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Was there a LoT this week that my dvr missed?

I am now rooting for Thea as next season's villain.

That would be cool, since they seem to have run out of things to do with her this season.
