A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Jessica—I know, right? I just binged it a week or two ago. Boy, I got some dreams out of that.

Well, I'm caught up to The Librarians, I might as well watch Magicians.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Magicians is totally bingey. In spite of my constant grousing about Quentin and his hair and his truly ungodly level of McAlary-ness.

I just bought the DVDs for the first two seasons of Librarians. Now I can watch them on my TV when my streaming BluRay play decides to sulk, and Hulu can't hold them hostage any more (not that they were, but I like to own the things I love).

If I want to become a cloud of bats, does each bat need a separate vaccination?

Holy SHIT, Magicians S1 finale. Move over, Game of Thrones, this is how it's done. (It's amazing how much more the pain is brought when you actually care what happens to the characters.)

If it weren't for John Oliver and Jane the Virgin, I'm not sure I would have slept last night.

Does anyone know how censored the Syfy broadcast eps are? Is it only the language?

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

Does anyone know how censored the Syfy broadcast eps are? Is it only the language?

I think it was just the language. When the uncensored versions were first released, all the online articles I found about them only mentioned the language.

Mr. Scola’s wardrobe by Botany 500

And even then, not all of the language. Mostly just the f-bombs.

If Magicians is earning a comparison with Game of Thrones, I think I'll give it a pass.

I can't watch Game of Thrones, but I find The Magicians very watchable, FWIW. There is some serious violence, but it doesn't seem to be in the basic weave of the world in Magicians the way it is in GoT.

In spite of my constant grousing about Quentin and his hair and his truly ungodly level of McAlary-ness.

Quentin is the least of my reasons for watching. There are multiple female characters with their own arcs and purposes and comoplexities. Alice's arc surprised me several times. Julia and Kady are great!

Also, Penny is a delight, and I want to make him cookies and wrap him in a blanket. Eliot is so Eliot, and I've loved watching him develop.

I think I disagree, but the main difference, I think, is that the characters don't take the level of violence for granted when it happens, which makes a huge difference in terms of emotional heft. Honestly, GoT is easier for me to watch because it really is just pure gratuitous spectacle - if certain characters are killed off, I'll be upset because the show will be boring without them, but I'm not really going to be sad about it.
