I'm highly in favor of the current headcanon in the fandom that Riker is DTF pretty much any being he meets but we only see him with women because of TV standards back in the day.

You have to remember that being a 5-time Olympic medalist means Hilary Knight has been playing hockey at an elite level at least 16 years. It's impossible for her to be a teenage girl less than 16 years old, thus the President's complete lack of interest.
Riker did get involved with that alien from a genderless society, although she identified as female and was played by a female actor. Frakes said the character should have been played by a male actor but the studio lacked the courage to cast one.

So, lacking the correct streaming service for Gay Canadian Hockey, I've embarked on a rewatch of due South.
Just got to Gift of the Wheelman (First appearance of Ghost Bob. And I had forgotten that Ray's dad was also there from the get go), and, man the writing on this show is...odd in weirdly consistent ways.
