A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.
Doctor Who: I thought the standalones this season got better and better, but the ultimate conclusion to the arc was...meh. (I said out loud about three eps from the end, "I hope this
mystery lady isn't another Bad Wolf macguffin)
and then I remembered that RTD is very good at that exactly one thing he knows how to write, so of course it was.
Interview with the Vampire: OMGOMGOMG. We decided to wait until it was all available and then binge so we'd only pay for one month of AMC, and there are two eps left in S2 and holy CHRIST this show is amazing. I'm not sure how they're going to reconcile the timeline of the show with
potentially going into Vampire Lestat for S3
but every decision they've made so far has been absolute solid gold so I'm willing to wait and see!
I'm sorry to say that I felt the same about the Doctor Who season. I subscribed to Disney to watch, and just couldn't get enthused. I did go through it quickly so I may rewatch to see if it was just me being bad moody.
The stories have been meh (and I don't love Ruby), but Ncuti Gatwa is a DELIGHT. I loved him in Sex Education as well.
He's amazing.
I liked most of the episodes well enough, which is generally all I expect from Doctor Who.
I adore Ncuti Gatwa as The Doctor and I hope he gets a better companion next season. (Ruby Sunday was fine but I didn't 100% vibe with her giggling-all-the-time energy?)
There is a video in which Ncuti Gatwa tells how he did something (video?) explaining how to pronounce his name followed by his mother telling him he was pronouncing his name wrong. He was 26 at the time.
