'Out Of Gas'
Boxed Set, Vol. VI: I am not a number, I am a free thread!
A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.
Warrior Nun isn't the best thing I've ever watched, and it's not my new sweeping obsession, but 4 episodes in, I finally really like the main character, Ava (I was lukewarm on her the first 2 episodes). And -- this is a fucking Netflix show in 2020, so there's no reason they can't give us flashbacks of Shotgun Mary (who I LOVE) and Shannon as actual girlfriends, damn it. I don't want hints; I want confirmation.
Tim finally got me back for every time we've watched a TV show or movie set in a coed public school (so, 99% of everything) and I ask him "Is this what public school was really like???" (Seriously, at the age of 49, I'm still fascinated by it.) Anyway, we were watching some fight scene in Warrior Nun and he asked "Is this what your all-girls' Catholic school was like?" (I told him, "God, no! ...we didn't have chain mail.")
Also 4 episodes in. Not forcing me to stay glued to the tv until I finish the series, but enjoyable. Hey, nuns kicking ass, what's not to love.
Anyone else watch Wynona Earp S4 premiere last night?
Yes.
Still weird. Still funny. Still has pretty people and pretty scenery.
The story-telling still doesn't make much sense, but I don't much care.
The bit that made me laugh out loud was when the sheriff said, "They look pretty cheesed!" but I initially heard "They look pretty cheesy!" - which was true.
After I finish The Runaways I'll probably start Wynonna Earp, which I've never seen.
I'm so happy it's back. Got a nice meta laugh out of "Are you ready to go? I feel like I've been standing here for 2 years"
The worldbuilding is total bananapants but that's part of the fun!
Has anyone watched Warrior Nun all the way through? Because I admit I 100% did not see that Hail Hydra moment with Father Vincent coming.
(I guess we don't have to whitefont, but it was pretty goddamn shocking to me, so I'm trying to not spoil anyone.)
I was shocked initially, but after thinking about it I realized that was the one plot point in the finale that made the most sense. Or really made any sense at all.
I finished Warrior Nun a couple days ago and was annoyed with myself for not realizing there was only one season! Lately I tend to watch shows after they already have a few seasons out. To get to your comment, I was only not surprised because they had trained me to expect the unexpected. I knew for sure that Father Vincent was key there, although it had been expected for quite some time, when they picked up the plans.
Anyway, dang them for tricking me into watching when there isn't subsequent seasons yet!
Speaking of Netflix stuff, my son says I must watch The Umbrella Academy immediately. At least there are two seasons there to entice me. So I guess next on my list. He watched all night, going to bed at 6 something this morning. When I went downstairs to pee during the night he wouldn't let me see the television to get spoilers.
Is that a this thread show, or somewhere else, or is anyone watching The Umbrella Academy?
