Steph, I believe that's loosely based on Ben Dunn's Warrior Nun Areala from Antarctic Press comics.
Boxed Set, Vol. VI: I am not a number, I am a free thread!
A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.
Netflix seems to think I'll want to watch a series called Warrior Nun, starting on Thursday: "After waking up in a morgue, an orphaned teen discovers she now possesses superpowers as the chosen Halo-Bearer for a secret sect of demon-hunting nuns."
Trailer is cheesy and horrible and I'll probably watch at least the first episode.
We flew through The Walking Dead and Fear the Walking Dead while locked down in Covidia. Now we need something to watch, I saw your post the other day, and came here thinking, "I know Teppy mentioned something cracktacular the other day."
I wish it debuted today, not tomorrow.
We tried to watch Breaking Bad last night, but I couldn't get into it. I don't really need a series about losing it due to the bleakness of life.
I need monsters or something to fight.
Cindy, the good news is that tomorrow is now today and all 10 episodes are on Netflix.
I know what I'm doing tonight.
I'm rewatching Buffy and Angel with the 13 year-old, and DH is finally catching up on Wynona Earp so I'm rewatching that too. The vicarious nightly defeating of evil is extremely satisfying.
I am disappointed that Netflix did not recommend Warrior Nun to me! I have added it to my queue.
So, what is the verdict? I told the kids we had a new Netflix drop to watch and they put their bets on so bad it might be worthwhile watching.
I told Tim I'd wait to watch it with him, which should be tonight. Or sometime this weekend, after Hamilton.
We do still have to get Disney+ to watch Hamilton.
We re-watched Buffy late last year (and Lost earlier this year).
Is Wynona Earp good, Jess? I eyed it the other night. I remember covering it for work and thinking maybe I'd check it out, but never did.
We settled on Vikings, but it's not really scratching the fighting evil itch.
So far, Vikings is not the smoothest series to watch, at least on streaming. I remember, even during TWD and FTWD storylines I couldn't stand, I had to watch the next episode, because those shows (regardless of their other flaws) are fricking genius when it comes to ending every damned episode on a cliffhanger.
Also after 10 seasons of TWD and 5 of FTWD, I'd kind of like to watch people who bathe on the regular. Say what you want about Buffy. Her hygiene was excellent.
Vikings is exciting but no, it's not about fighting evil, and the characters you like sometimes do terrible things. I stopped watching after about 3-4 seasons, although I keep thinking I'll check in because I really loved Lagertha.
Wynonna Earp is sort of Buffy x SPN, as a Western. Lots of family lore, and demons, and the occasional mysterious government agency. Wynonna was a fuckup when she was young, and now she's back in town and learns she has inherited the duty to fight demons from her g-g-g-grandfather Wyatt Earp. I mostly enjoyed the first season, haven't gotten back to watch the rest.
We're several seasons behind on Vikings. We dropped a lot of shows when ltc was born, but that is one I'd like to get back to.
