Boxed Set, Vol. VI: I am not a number, I am a free thread!

A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

In Procedurals, Zen.

brillig

Is anyone watching Emerald City? It's a lot grittier than I expected and I'm not sure if I'm going to finish watching this.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

I watched it ... but found myself wondering why.

heh ... a while ago I read an interview with onetime Dr. Who Colin Baker. Seemingly, for one episode he was tied to a pole and was being carried through the woods ... they broke for lunch or something and they FORGOT ABOUT HIM, leaving him lying on the ground, still tied to the pole. They did remember him before TOO long and someone came and untied him.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

Mark of the Rani! Not entirely sure if they forgot about him or 'forgot' about him.

My favourite behind-the-scenes tale comes from The Talons of Weng-Chiang. This one was set in Victorian London. The production team had scouted out a part of London that still looked the part for the location filming. They planned to do a shoot with a hansom cab rattling through the street one evening, and sent out notices to all the locals to say they'd need to have their cars off the street that night.

Come the night of the shoot, they all turn up and find one couple has left their expensive and completely anachronistic Porsche out in front of the house, and gone away for the weekend. As usual, there's no time to reschedule, so the director tells the unit manager to sort something out.

the unit manager racks his brains for a way to disguise this car with something period, and hits on an idea. And so, if you happen to watch this adventure, at one point you'll see a shot of a cab being driven past this car - covered with a tarp, and then completely buried under a 6 foot high pile of period-friendly manure.

And that is why you should never ignore letters from the BBC.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

The BBC does not mess around!

billytea, I wondered about that ... I remember a lot of, um, not very flattering comments about him and wondered if the crew had felt the same way.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

If that had happened to my car I'd have been delivering any residual manure to the BBC offices with bonus lighter fluid and matches.

GS: If you had to choose between kicking evil in the head or the behind, which would you choose, and why? Minsc: I'm not sure I understand the question. I have two feet, do I not? You do not take a small plate when the feast of evil welcomes seconds.

A few years back, they were going to take off the surface of the road in front of my building (and put a new one back). Several weeks in advance, they started sending people notices. Put signs up. There were notices in the paper. The day they started, of course, there was ONE car on the entire street. The road crew were merciful (maybe) and didn't have the car towed. However, when they were done, the car sat on the only dilapidated bit of pavement for about three blocks and was covered with a thick layer of dust from the road grinding.
