GS: If you had to choose between kicking evil in the head or the behind, which would you choose, and why? Minsc: I'm not sure I understand the question. I have two feet, do I not? You do not take a small plate when the feast of evil welcomes seconds.

Why does the Doctor get a new Sonic Screwdriver every time they regenerate?

The more I learn, the more I realize how little I know.

New Black Lightning tonight?

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Does God Friended Me count as Boxed Set?

New Black Lightning tonight?

Yes, and The Flash.

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

Damn, Black Lightning didn't hold back.

Whoever is in charge of the music is a damn genius.

What is even happening?

Did anyone else watch the Charmed reboot tonight? What did you think of it?

I never watched the original WB series. I'm wondering how closely the stories track. For example, did one of the (original) three sisters not grow up with the other two?

Beverly - Oct 14, 2018 7:46:57 pm PDT #1075 of 2023
Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

In the original series the three original sisters were raised by their grandmother when their mom died early. Their father was estranged. After high school the sisters went their own ways, the elder sister completely removing herself from her siblings' lives. On the death of their grandmother, the three of them inherited the schmancy SF Victorian house together, and moved in until they decided if they were going to sell and divide the proceeds, or try and live together. Once they were all together they found out about their witchy legacy and understood why they had certain talents, and how those talents combined gave them "the power of three." So it was trying to get over past resentments, getting to know one another again and learning to care that took up the first few seasons.

The elder sister actress (Shannen Dougherty) had some personal problems and severe conflicts with Alyssa Milano, and Dougherty was voted off the island. Her character died a heroic death protecting her sisters. After a week or two of mourning, odd things started happening around the Circle K, and surprise! A half-sister showed up with her own bag of tricks she had no idea of their origin, and after some initial hemming and hawing, she moved into the Victorian and re-established the power of three.

(And then there was this whole long hot period of partial seasons where Milano's character was in love with and seduced to the dark side by Nip 'n' Tuck's Julian McMahon...but I digress)

Thank you, Beverly. The Doherty stuff was the only thing I knew. I didn't realize her character was the oldest sister though. I think I thought Holly Marie Combs' character was. So Rose McGowan was the half-sister, right?

And then there was this whole long hot period of partial seasons where Milano's character was in love with and seduced to the dark side by Nip 'n' Tuck's Julian McMahon...

Well, who hasn't been there.

I couldn't record it last night because there were too many conflicts. Is it worth tracking down?
