There was an issue with one of the main things I was gonna work on, so I took lots of breaks and cleaned a lot in my house. Exactly what employers fear about people working from home.

Oh man, I just read someone's account of how her husband was grading college senior math exams and got a note from one student asking him to meet for drinks "and other things" at a bar so she could explain why he should review his grading and see if he might have made mistakes. He obliviously reviewed the test, found a couple of additional mistakes he'd overlooked the first time, lowered the grade, and thanked the student for asking him to double check his work.
Man, I love stories like that. Are you sure he was really oblivious?

Tr*mp apparently ordered the bombing without going through Congress, which may be illegal. Not that anyone in power seems to really care when Tr*mp does something illegal. I'm too tired for outrage and horror anymore, now I'm just disgusted with pretty much everyone in power in the whole fucking world. Except Angela Merkel.
Yeah. Maybe we could trade Trump for Angela Merkel. We'd probably have to throw in a sh*tload of military equipment too. Then we'd have Merkel for a leader and Germany would have Trump and a bunch of... maybe not the greatest idea come to think of it.
Y'all, I just... Went to tell our IT guy that I ordered an ext hard drive (what I wanted to add...because you never set up a back up for my local drive as we discussed and if I lose these files I'm screwed). Him, "Well we have a script that's easy to set up and we'll have to do it even if you get the hard drive." I'm like, "Okay." Ordered the drive and will let you know when he "remembers" to set up the back up (will never happen). People, man.

That's all I have to say on this Friday that is not yet over.

Oh, this is classic. Editor-in-chief asks me a question, I ask EditSupport, they ask the software liaison, liaison asks the admin, admin asks the Editor-in-Chief. *facepalm*
So nobody knows the answer to the question, and the process can't move forward until the question's answered.

I just had the most exhausting conversation with my best employee. I have to figure out what to do with her, because she's totally overstretched, but I think about 25% of it is her own doing. Example: I said to her, "X isn't expecting that project to be done this week, but it would be great if we could do it." I realize I was not crystal clear, but I did not mean go to heroic efforts to get it done today! But she did anyway. Or something. I'm also not entirely sure why this project is so hard anyway.
