You never know if a girl's gonna say 'yes', or if she's gonna laugh in your face and pull out your still-beating heart and crush it into the ground with her heel.

I can't even.

Happy birthday Tom! I'm really vicariously enjoying the trail of fun Scolapalooza is bringing to Buffistas as Tom makes his way across the country.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Happy Birthday, Tom!!!

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Birthday Happies, Tom!!

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Cohabitation between guinea pigs and constrictor snakes doesn't sound to me like a recipe for lasting harmony.

Probably extra-harmonious for the snake, though.

Tom, I was really tempted to come to the Ohio stop of Scolapalooza, but my stupid anxiety prevented it.

I hae about three weeks of vacation time--maybe I should use some of it before my job goes away.

ION, finally done with a first-draft of a resume. Once I really dug in to work on it, I made good progress and my anxiety level dropped. Last night I was reviewing the things I've done at my current job over the last 21 years, and I realized I could add: "Developed custom software to manage final construction of five billion dollar offshore oil rig."

I had almost forgotten about that.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

Awww, it would have been great to see you again! But I also totally understand anxiety getting in the way.

Hooray for the 21st Century! The reference librarians at the tiny public library in my small rural hometown have an email form right on their website. Which makes immense sense in a rural area, it's much simpler to email the library than schlepping into town. I've emailed them a request for resources on finding land and mineral rights info. Fortunately the documentation on the lease has the tax parcel number and the reference to the deed book location.

(god, I wish I'd had time to take Hubby back there to show him where I came from)

I'd say that's definitely worth including on a resume, Tommy!
