things that really only happen to me
news: started an inadvertent flame war on FB about artists recasting other artist's reproduction animal skulls.
On the up side, I got a sneak peak at the next line of skulls a friend is casting for reproduction, and she's making one that will be perfect for the accessory I need to make by mid-May.
Timelies all!
I ended up taking Mr. S to daycare today because Gary needed to bring his car in to be worked on.(Among other things, the gas cap is stuck so he couldn't fill the tank yesterday. He didn't think he had enough left in the tank to get to daycare and then to the shop.) Gary will pick Mr. S up, which is why I'm here relaxing alone.
Yay relaxing!
Jilli, I had to read that a couple of times to figure out you weren't talking about, like, animal skulls playing characters in adaptations of...something.
I need electricity to stop fucking with me.
On the upside, I have a roofer and general contractor coming out next week to get me quotes on 4 projects I'd like done this summer (3 roof issues and a door.)
Balcony doorframe on second floor. It's a hot mess on the outside, needs resealing, painting, possibly reframing plus want to reopen transom. I suspect is is main source of a leak into the kitchen when it rains from the west.
sarameg, in addition to Alaska trip plans, does your family have eclipse-watching plans?
That's great, zuisa! I really loved fostering and it's so important.
I would love to foster cats, but I'm not sure Franny wouldn't eat them. Her dog aversion is extreme. Whether that extends to all animals, I don't know.
I have to get up and leave the house at 3:20 tomorrow morning. This is bad. Except this will end with me in Colorado, skiing in the mountains at my brother's fabulous house. There will be nephews and wine and skiing.
Except to get there, I have to get up before 3.
And before then, I have to make up the futon in the guest room, which is where I am sitting and watching Colbert videos on Youtube.
