I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

And he didn't use the word "genetics", but said that some people just seemed to handle excess weight better. So hopefully the medical profession will stay on this route, instead of the "all of your problems are because you're fat" route.

I hope the medical profession goes this way, as carrying excess weight is pretty much a family tradition for my (genetic) people.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

That was a big upside to my very boring job at the Sewerage & Water Board, plenty of time to read and post here (and keep up with an astonishing (in hindsight) number of webcomics and blogs). Oh what I might have become with access to tumblr in those days!

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

During the WX era, I had the world's most boring and easy job sitting at a desk.

Yeah, I like my current responsibilities and paycheck, but I miss having A) downtime and B) a private office with a door that closes because OMG everything must be open plan nowadays and never mind if that means you catch EVERY cold in the building, your coworkers know way too much about your medical situation (not that I couldn't leave the desk to call the doctor, but cell phone reception in the building sucks and you usually have to await the doctor's convenience for a return call)...and it cuts severely into your hanging out with wonderful invisible people time.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Don'tRepubliCare

The best moniker I've see so far is RyanDon'tCare.

It's either time for the biennial sewage line cleanout, or the main line got a little icy OR the snow and ice that blew up against the basement door melted inwards. Sigh. Tomorrow's shower will tell whether I need to make a home warrantee call...

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

I hope the medical profession goes this way, as carrying excess weight is pretty much a family tradition for my (genetic) people.

Right? I did not say that I came from a long line of sturdy people, but seriously. We're Cajuns. We cook very good food.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

I was skimming, and my brain did that thing where it smushed a few posts together:

Though witch doctors are not covered under our insurance.

I hope the medical profession goes this way

I admit, I had to read that run of posts a few times to be sure which way the medical profession might be going.

Huh. The good news is it wasn't the sewer line. Bad news it it something to do with the refill valve to the furnace. I think it is doing what it is supposed to, but I don't know why. Will put in a call tomorrow.

I mean, they are covering chiropractors and acupuncture these days, a lot of times. Witch doctors may be next. More affordable, with TrumpCare?
