Our wings are not tired.

No snow, but we did much needed rain all night. I hope the areas on fire got it too.

Be safe wishes for all those in the path of the storm.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

We got a bunch of rain, at around 35F. Too cold for even me to call it refreshing, but not cold enough for snow.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

We've got what looks like about 6-8 inches so far, but there's a lot of drifting so it's hard to say exactly. (Kids keep asking Alexa to tell them the weather. It's snowing with a chance of more snow and by the way, there's a blizzard warning because snow.)

I'm technically WFH, but I was supposed to be at a training session all day and so I already canceled all of my other work things! So my to-do list looks basically like:

1. Experimental hair color
2. Bake Pi day pie
3. Build IKEA bookshelves
4. Nap
5. Eat Pi day pie
6. Watch Planet Earth 2 and Masterchef Jr
7. Nap

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

We got a call at 5:15 this morning saying that Gary's work was closed today. Mr. S's daycare is also closed. As for me, there was a 3-hour delay in play, but I decided to stay home because of the ice and crud on the roads. So here we are.

It's a day I should have stayed home. I was nuking my breakfast in the break room when I realized my shirt was on inside out. I napped in the car before coming in. And there's apparently something dead in the drop ceiling, or at least something very smelly, so maintenance is pulling down tiles and searching, and horrible smells waft across the room.

Yay.

Ann, that's a ferret.

Pretty disappointing near DC. About 3 inches as of earlier this morning, but I suspect there may have been ice as well.

I got the choice of arriving 3 hours late, taking leave, or working from home. I chose working from home. Which means my assistant, Coco, is trying to take over the computer's keyboard. At the moment, his head is resting on my hand. Which means I have to type one-handed.

hip deep in pie

My people say this is good luck! Only until you realize you're wearing it inside out...then you're just a person wearing their clothes inside out.

I think inside out clothes is to ward off possession by the fey. Oh, well, there goes my day.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I came in to work and now I regret it. Not because I feel bad enough to still be in bed (although I would be perfectly happy to still be in bed, I don't actually feel too bad today), but my inbox is sapping my will to live.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I'm watching the Spring Baking Championship, and I'm pretty sure when they announced bunnies as a theme for a challenge, one of the contestants muttered "it could be bunnies."

I have done not much so far today, although I did take out the trash and do a little cleaning in the kitchen.
