Love you all, thanks for being here
GROUP HUG.
Awww!! Group hug except not for you non-huggers! More of a wave for you.
Group gesture of affection!
And a shout out to the BRQG, which led me to this place just as this iteration of the board was getting started.
Oh wow! I'm interested in how people found their ways here.
I knew askye (and Daniel) from the Hellmouth Cafe chatroom. She encouraged me to check this place out and get involved. I joined and lurked for a while, mostly in Bitches. The conversation was fast and furiously funny. At some point I developed an ambition to get COMMed, and for that you actually need to post stuff...
I just realized I turned two into Buffistas.
I found the Hellmouth Cafe from a profile on a personals site geared towards geeks.
And then buffistas I found through Table Talk. I read an editorial in the paper by Anne Lamott and there was a reference to Salon.com.
I was a late-ish internet adopter and I used to go to the library to go on the computers. After I watched my first episode, I think I searched for a place to chat. But I already read a lot of Pacey/Joey fanfic so it might have been vonniek who led me here. She was the best fic reccer for my tastes. Or it might have been someone in yahoo groups? I also recognized Anne from the Knitlist, which was a huge knitting mailing list. Once I got a desk job, I used to print out threads to read at home!
I also realized last night that MustangSally, of the Bowie song titled Buffy/Spike fics and Sarah D. Bunting from Dawson's Wrap/MBTV/TWOP have the same voice in my head.
Timelies all!
I basically found the Buffistas on Table Talk, and followed them through WorldCrossing to here. I feel like a bad Buffista, in that I don't own the series on DVD, and haven't rewatched the eps at all. I think Seasons 6 and 7 have tainted my love for the show.(Not to mention that I don't like Spike, and he's all over those seasons)
In other news, we have an appointment to apply for a passport for Mr. S this afternoon.
