I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Don't tell them about chicken salad, Connie.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Don't tell them about chicken salad, Connie.

Or, you know, American sandwiches. They usually have mayo!

Yeah, I don't know why the sudden outrage.

hip deep in pie

ANYWAY, I've met the lead electrician guy, and I thought he was American, but now I think maybe I just don't remember his accent, because what he's left in my kitchen are tea bags and evaporated milk. That's not an American, right??

He's from Newfoundland!!!

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

One of my friends posted on FB that he tried to make a grilled cheese sandwich and failed miserably (the dude is almost 50, and I feel like that's a sandwich skill you learn well before that age). People were offering suggestions, and more than one person said to use mayo instead of butter. That sounds sketchy to me, but they said it was good. Has anyone tried that?

Wait--putting mayo on the outside and grilling it in that?

No.

Kat mentioned that being delicious at some point. Unless I dreamed that conversation. No reason why it shouldn't work just fine, it's spreadable oil. I can't remember if I've actually tried it or not - I do tend to try different approaches to grilled cheese but I don't often have mayo to hand.

Googling Buffy Blue Jacket images to figure out what to wear tomorrow (assuming I am not out sick again AND I'D BETTER NOT BE I HAVE THINGS TO DO [I don't know who I am yelling at, but I feel strongly about this] I'm starting to think that the jacket I bought actually reminds me of an action figure and not an actual scene from the show. Or misremembering the blue trench coat, but the action figure is pretty damn close to what I had in my head.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

I"ve tried it and it's good. Also easier than using cold butter.
