Also, I would like to confess that despite an overall excellent command of English, I am confused about the tenses of the verb "to drink." "I have never drunk rum" is, I think, correct, but it feels wrong. Drink, drank, drunk. Sigh.

Where rum is involved, drunk is always an appropriate word.
That will still be delicious, right?
Yes. But if you're not sure, you can send me some and I'll taste it for you.
I'm having an EVERYTHING IS ON FIRE kind of day, which doesn't seem fair on a Friday where I'm working from home! Why so emergencified, work?
I just realized my first day at work is Wednesday and I'll be up all night with the election results.
You've never drunk rum?! Dang girl. I def recommend a dark rum. Caribbean. But Jamaican vs Hatian vs wherever else, no idea. I mean, I also like a spiced rum, but that's not purist of me.
I am so anxious about the election. Also, I am having people over and contemplated election cake but it sounded hard. I want to know if it tastes good, first!
What kind of rum should I buy, and how should I drink it?
I like dark rum to drink in Dark and Stormys (Stormies?) I like a Dark and Stormy, is what I'm getting at -- dark rum with ginger beer. I have also put it in mulled cider. It is also delicious just with Sprite. I think the bottle I currently have is Gosling's, but I'm no kind of expert.

It sounds good! I mean, fruit cake is delicious generally. And I strongly stand by that.
I don't think there's a chance of hell of moving Trump's supporters. We just have to hope there aren't enough of them.
There's a Trump sign outside the fence at my apartment complex, on the neutral ground between the sidewalk and the street. Darn this free country thing which makes it extremely tacky to remove other people's signs.
Not even a rum mixed drink? I think that's where I started when I started drinking alcohol because mixed rum drinks are usually sweet.

So true. The last time I was stumble down drunk with the hangover to show for it was over rum. Friends had some super special island rum and it was just too damn tasty.
I have to plan an election night taco party that will have sangria and not rum. Also a family thing on Sunday and another one on Monday. I should get on that.
