I wonder if this is the beginning of the Trump administration going down. That would be awesome. I mean, the whole President Pence thing would still suck big time. Gud, the folks I'm reading on this are speculating on Pence going down, too -- mostly because of his categorical denials early on that anyone on the campaign team had talked to anyone in Russia. It was already untrue even before the election!

In rural America, there often aren't many other venues where you could possibly hold such an event.

I don't think it can be done. You can't turn the clock back, and I think that's what rural America wants. Just keep the rural population in mind when working on the future and hope they eventually come around. In terms of elections, the Dems have the numbers, they just need to get people to the polls.
