I've never understood why people want to wear yoga pants in public. When your black yoga pants are so tight the color of your skin is showing through in large patches, you may want to rethink yoga pants. Still, kudos for the self-confidence.

I wear yoga pants that are thicker and looser than that, but they are definitely not so much for actually dealing with people. (though I'll wear them shopping or whatever.)

For the most part, college guys don't wear winter jackets until it gets close to 0. They seem to think that admitting that they're cold is like admitting defeat.

It's not snowing here...it's...icing. It sounds like rain is hitting the house, but it's ice pellets. Yuck. What's worse, I think this storm is hitting us in a time frame where we're not getting a snow day.

Got into a Facebook discussion over Milo today. I took the position that I think a University should be able to insist on a minimal level of civility from speakers that use it as a venue. My old friend took the position that anyone a campus group invites should always be allowed to speak because free speech. Am I being unreasonable? I feel like a University shouldn't feel compelled to provide a venue for Milo Y. since he appears to mostly provoke and troll rather than discuss ideas (I listened to some of his speeches and there wasn't much in the way of ideas, but he did claim feminists were all ugly lesbians, that male feminists were sexual predators and muslims were pedophiles. Is that standing against free speech? I'm not saying he shouldn't be able to say these things, just that the University shouldn't have to provide a venue for it.

I'll take any excuse to wear my ugg-type boots and knee socks (my feet are ALWAYS cold), but no matter how cold I am, I invariably see people wearing shorts or flip flops, or both. It's like since it's San Diego, they're in denial that chilliness happens.

One of the guys in my dorm when I was in college was from Michigan and maintained that living in Southern California meant he could always wear shorts. And he always did. With tall white socks. It was his thing. Last time I saw him he was not, I think, wearing shorts, but that was in Seattle.
