Natter 75: More Than a Million Natters Served
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
I've never really understood these Republican congresspeople who "hate government" and want to dismantle everything all while having their cushy work schedule and government benefits. And, you know, getting their salary from the government.
Yeah, you never hear about cutting the number of congresspeople, do you?
OMG, flames! Side of face! Eyeballs boiling with rage!
Ahem.
"It is SUPER technical, but when it's published in mid-March, I can (illegally) send you the PDF. I just put a reminder on my calendar for that date."
That is really nice, Tep! Thank you!
I'd vote for you, Zen. I have been thinking about running for office, and considering how much talking to people that requires, that's amazing. But it's not like I have much of a career to abandon, so in some ways it would make sense.
There are just some days you need to lose yourself in Ben Wyatt gifs.
Just had the yearly review! Boss loves me, says I'm one of his go-to people. He's been here as long as I have, and he nodded knowingly when I said I want to work here till I retire. I occasionally worry that they're secretly thinking of ways to get rid of me, but that's apparently not the case. Yay! I think I can justify buying some macarons for my birthday next week now.
Yay, Connie! That's always reassuring to hear.
I was at an event over the weekend and a macaron bakery had a table there, and I was reminded of the discussion about them last week (I bought some, of course -- WAY more expensive than the TJs versions!). I took a picture of a pyramid of macarons -- I should post it on FB.
Yes, I just saw that picture.
I'm going to buy *two* boxes of frozen macarons from the grocery store. Mad decadence!
edit: a dozen per box for $8. The green tea matcha ones were surprisingly good.

That is so great!!!
I haven't interacted with my new boss much, but already the majority of those interactions were her contacting me for help. So, points in my favor?
Thanks to y'all, I bought some TJ's macarons a couple of days ago and somehow they are already all gone and I didn't share with anyone. Ooops.
But, I have avoided Girl Scout cookies. The rest of the family has purchased, but I asked them not to offer them to me.
The tornado was in New Orleans East...I was about to say "fortunately", but that's terrible. But it means that it wasn't in the city proper, where Buffistas and my family are.
Edit: Also, super fun to learn about these things by someone marking themself as safe on FB.
