Yikes, Calli!

He'll be glad to have that cartilage if society collapses.

I can't kick fascist asses with a sore paw!

Pink sparkly hearts, lisah.

My "grey" hair is actually white, but doesn't take color well at all. My brown hair is kinda resistant also, I think, so maybe there is something else going on.

The ball of my foot started hurting and getting slightly swollen around thanksgiving.

Yikes. Mystery injuries just allow you to make up amazing stories.

My "grey" hair is actually white, but doesn't take color well at all.

Same here. Somehow when my stylist purples my hair, they will take the color, but when I do touch ups at home, with non-stylist stuff, they don't grab the color at all. So I have both purple and white at my temples.

Work just got interesting. I'm an SME for one of our new systems. My new boss (who has 70 people under her unlike my old boss who only had 8)just called me with a very basic "how to" question on that system. I'm glad she sees me as a resource.

We also talked about the raise and promotion I had been promised would happen April 1st. She was not fully aware though she did say, "I think I have you covered anyway". So, we will see what happens there.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

45 minutes ago, my coworker said she was 10-15 minutes from starting a process that we need to finish today. Sigh.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Blue/purple hair intrigues me, but I'm afraid of what bleach would do to my already fragile hair. So then I thought about just coloring the bottom inch or two, so that the damage would be contained. Problem is, I don't have a stylist, and I don't know where to go to get it done right.(Probably not the Hair Cuttery) Ah, well, I probably should let it grow out a bit, since I just got it cut.

Sheryl, check Groupon. You might find a deal for a local salon that is a step or two above the Hair Cuttery. I like purple because when it fades, the color doesn't change all that much, just gets lighter.

I had an experience a few years back with blue hair that fades into a swamp green color, so I've stayed away from blue. But that may very well have been that specific product and not blue in general. I always ask if the stylist knows how a color will fade.

Already got my sleep study results, and an appointment to get a CPAP machine on Tuesday. Apparently I'm waking up something like every 3 minutes at night - no wonder I'm always tired. I will be so happy if using one of these things gets me more spoons!

When I've had purple in the past it always faded to pink, like the blue washed out first. The blue I have now starts out a vibrant cobalt and fades to more like faded denim - I quite like the effect.

brillig

an appointment to get a CPAP machine

I've had a CPAP for nearly 10 years. I don't remember if I noticed a big difference, but I can't sleep properly without it anymore. It didn't take me long to get used to it, but I've got mine on the lowest setting. Hubby had his on the highest settings, it was like trying to sleep with a gale force wind in the face.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Well, we can't turn on our taps until at least 6pm tomorrow. There's a bunch of stuff happening to get things fixed, and that's when they can test the water to see if we can use it. I took the cat to a hotel in another town tonight. After 2.5 weeks of a cold that's kept me from sleeping at least half the time, I've lost my ability to can. The cat seems to be enjoying hotel life. All kinds of new things to sniff. He's also enamored with some cat-accessible mirrors. Understandable--he's a handsome fella. I'm enjoying being on a pokestop and having running water.
