Connie, are you in SLC?

I am in Orem, about 30 miles south, and the part of town Trader Joe's is in requires Mad Max levels of driving and parking-fu. But I'm thinking about it.

Wait.

I think I saw macarons in the freezer case of my regular grocery store.

Uh oh.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Mad Max levels of driving and parking-fu

I'm pretty certain that's part of their site selection criteria.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I'm so spoiled, the nearest three Trader Joe's to me are easy to get to and park at.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

My TraderJoes is overcrowded nearly to the point of causing me rage blackouts on weekends, but I've found that Wednesdays after work it's pretty quiet.

hip deep in pie

-t, macarons are essentially meringues. They can have almond extract but don't need to.

They're made with almond meal.

Our wings are not tired.

I know John Hurt played a million roles, but I am stuck thinking that it feels ominous that Winston Smith has died.

One of my dearest friends uses Winston Smith as his FB name for, reasons. He is a most brilliant and complex fellow. He hasn't reacted yet. No doubt he feels things.

Muslim ban on Holocaust Remembrance Day. The fucking fuck.

Yeah, I braved some news watching last night. It hurts.

My TJs is okay for parking. Stopped there last night for the 2 buck chuck. It has made grocery shopping a new experience for this shopping phobic person. I can go there every day!

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

I miss working down the street from Trader Joe's. I could just run over at 2 on a weekday, and it was delightful. Now we drive 20 minutes to make one big TJs run every 2 or 3 weeks on a weekend, and it's super crowded. #firstworldproblems

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

Wait, -t, Sue is 100% right. DO NOT EAT. The one's I've had have been almond free because the woman who gave me the recipe had a kid who is allergic to the world. The recipe she gave me was:

Macarons
4 egg whites
1/3 c of sugar
8 ounces of finely grated white chocolate
1 cup confectioners sugar, sifted

Whisk together your egg whites and sugar until stiff, add color (use gel)if desired and whisk through. Egg whites should be stiff enough that you can turn your bowl upside down. Gently fold in your icing sugar and white chocolate. Avoid it being too runny. Pipe it into circles. Let it sit for at least 30 minutes for a skin to form. Bake at 350 for 20 minutes, check at 15 and possibly moving pan around.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Oh yeah, that is just a meringue. Delicious, delicious meringues!

OK, macarons are back off the menu. Unless I make Kat's recipe, that sounds delish!
