Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

(skipping a lot) If anyone wants a pussyhat (or any other small crocheted thing), a friend of mine is selling crocheted stuff. Zie has a leg injury, which means both a lot of time sitting down, and a lot of extra medical bills, and zie crochets really cool stuff, so if you want something, let me know, and I'll get you in touch. (Or, comment on my Facebook post where I posted about it.)

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

So, I'm hearing word from my inside source that the White House is trying to make a number of jobs redundant at the NSA. They are civil servants and can't be fired as such. But the jobs can be eliminated.

Why would he do that?

Totally makes me think like he's actively treasonous and working for Putin's interests.

Then again, he's actively trying to undermine the intelligence agencies.

It smells bad.

I just remembered that I do know someone who works at the NSA. But I haven't spoken to her in years, and she kind of hated me then, so I probably won't find out anything from her.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

My grandfather (20 years at NSA after 20 in the Navy) must be rolling in his grave.

Surival~ and recovery~ma to Omnis.

Yeah, dismantling the EPA and NPS isn't out of line with Trump's alleged political affiliation (unfortunately). The NSA, though? That's weird. And worrisome.

Our wings are not tired.

Sending so much ~ma for omnis.

My batshitcrazy co-worker, who is brilliant and capable so beloved despite the batshitcraziness, had an amazing recovery from cancer. Since she suffers from the BSC she didn't believe in the big pharma/medicine machine and refused to go to a doctor for decades. She had a lump in her breast which was quite visible when she showed the other women in the office because she was probably right around 90 pounds at the time. She is 5'7" so basically a tall skeleton. She would respond to suggestions that a doctor might be a good plan with lectures on this awesome natural cure and that one that The Man is hiding from us. Finally only after her lung collapsed from the intrusion her DH got her to go to the ER. She changed her tune after this and agreed to do whatever the oncologist told her. She was too weak to have even the mildest chemo so the first task was to fatten her up and build her strength. Doc put her on the synthetic pot to give her an appetite (which she supplemented with permission), and told her to eat everything that she had told herself was bad for her. Double cheeseburgers with fries and a milkshake please. After some time she was strong enough to go on a super lightweight oral chemo and her response was incredible. They even had her do a whole bunch of additional genetic type tests because her response was so perfect that they wanted her profile for future cases. She had zero side affects. She now is a healthy 135 lbs and all her screenings are cancer free. She is however still BSC for which there is no cure.

Here's hoping that there are some sane and even insane Republicans at their big retreat talking openly with each other about what they can do about this huge mess they have on their hands. As long as they circle the wagons he is going to continue to dismantle all around him. I would have to hope that they are concerned, although terrified would be more appropriate.

I'm so glad big pharma was able to help her, even if they couldn't cure the BS part :) but seriously folks--if we had a magic cure (a) I don't think normal people would be able to keep it a secret, my coworkers and bosses and anyone in on it (because there would have to be a LOT of people in on it--if you haven't tested it in humans it's not a magic cure. Bleach kills cancer cells in a tube, man) would spill the beans because everyone has a family member who's had cancer. But it wouldn't even come to that because (b) the companies would be able to charge SO MUCH. It would be a crazy blockbuster drug!!

Yeah, unfortunately we were witness to her screaming fit when her daughter's baby daddy snuck behind her back and had the kid vaccinated. If she weren't so smart and capable in other ways....

brillig

Hubby dealt with a woman who promised to get him in touch with a guy living in a motel on the west side of town who was in hiding because Big Pharma wanted to squash his miracle cancer cure. Hubby asked why he was having to hide in a motel when surely there was some rich person with cancer who would have given the guy a palace in exchange for the cure. The woman told him he was ungrateful and walked away.

(but I will not go into the jackals who lurked around the cancer hospital)
