Here's what's wrong with Obamacare: preventive care is free but you have to pay for diagnostic (at least on my insurance), so I'm thinking I won't go to the doctor about this vague lightheaded/swimmy feeling I've been having off and on for a while, because I don't want to pay for the bloodwork! But you know what, just thinking about it to type this makes me realize I think it's actually just very minor vertigo. So that's good. No doctor for me.

EPA budget cut rumors are currently a 10% across the board cut (=815 million), which follows a 2 billion cut in 2010. Today's rumor is air quality work will take a 50% budget cut. Because who needs to be able to breathe?

I do wonder at what point we jump. Like, in an apocalypse I always figured I would not be one of the people who is smart and sees it coming and buys up the guns and grocery store just before money stops meaning anything. I don't even know what to do.

I know- I am wondering if I am crazy to think of at least building up a store of cash on my person/in my home.
I do think this is a good time to revisit personal finances, increase savings, and pay down debt. The bubble is going to burst at some point and it is good to be prepared.
I'm also looking into what I can do to decrease my taxes. I've always just paid them and not really worried about paying as little as possible. Now I want to make sure I'm contributing Very Little to the wall and the Muslim registry and whatever else the idiot comes up with.
The only thing that will make any difference is if the Republicans in the House and Senate take a stand. Some of them might be influenced by their constituents, many not at all.
